The Chairman of BNP Paribas has been elected President of the European Banking Federation (FBE) for a two-year term.
He succeeds Maurizio Sella, President of the Italian Banking Association.
At the same time, Hein Blocks, Managing Director of the Netherlands Bankers’ Association, was elected Chairman of the Executive Committee, and Guido Ravoet, Chief Executive Officer of the Belgian Finance Federation, was named Secretary General.
Created in 1960, the FBE is the voice of the European banking sector.
It represents the interests of over 4,500 European banking institutions, who have over 2.3 million employees and combined assets of more than € 20,000 billion.
