Changes in execution of payments in euro and in currency law

Dear Clients,

We would like to inform you that as of January 1st, 2012 following value dates will be applied for the standard transfers in euro:

  • standard outgoing payments in euro will be executed with value date of the credit entry of the beneficiary bank – Next business day and the charge applied will be the one for Standard payments with Spot value date.

Considering the latest changes in article 6 of the Currency Law, we would like to inform you that effective from January 1st, 2012 BNP Paribas S.A. – Sofia Branch will process cross-border payments, as follows:

  • For countries outside the European Union*: after presentation of the accompanying documents as specified in Ordinance Nr.28 of BNB for amounts equal to or above 30,000 BGN or their equivalent in other currencies;
  • For countries within the European Union*: the presentation of the accompanying documents is not anymore required.

*Note: Member-countries of the European Union: Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany, France, Italy, Denmark, Ireland, Great Britain, Greece, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Finland, Sweden, Cyprus, Czech Republic. Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia, Romania and Bulgaria;
