What is the role?

The Financial Analyst has the following responsibilities for our Bulgarian Corporate and Institutional Banking unit:

  • Responsible for the preparation of the local (BG) regulatory reports and statistics and their submission to the regulator (Bulgarian National Bank)

  • Controls the quality of the accounting environment as per the department control plan; reviews the operations performed by the Regional hub (impairment, leasing, adjustments, etc.)

  • Participates in the month-end / year-end closing processes ensuring timely and correctly closing of the branch’s accounts

  • Cooperates with our Budapest based Regional reporting team for processes optimisation, proposing and supporting ideas for cross-border sharing or backing up of tasks

  • Takes an active role in various projects related to accounting schemes, activities, products and upgrades of the existing accounting and reporting systems

  • Analyses the bank’s performance, results from operations, assets and liabilities quality, etc.

  • Contributes to the update/creation of procedures and guidelines in line with Group policies and local regulations

  • Provides support within the department and to other departments related to accounting and control areas

  • Supports external and internal auditors’ missions

What qualities do we look for?

  • 4+ years of experience in financial reporting, accounting and control in the Financial sector

  • Advanced knowledge in accounting and regulatory reporting specificities in Bulgaria

  • Able to process and analyze large sets of data

  • Fluent spoken and written Bulgarian language

  • Advanced command of English is necessary

  • Working knowledge of Hungarian language is an advantage (for Hungary based applicants)

  • Advanced knowledge of standard MS Office applications
