What is the role?

BNP Paribas Central Europe is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our Change Management team as a Regional Project and Portfolio Manager. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing a diverse portfolio of projects and initiatives across the Central Europe region, as well as leading particular projects and acting as a liaison between business units and technology teams, translating business requirements into technical specifications and solutions.

What are the main responsibilities?

  • Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of assigned projects to ensure alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Define and manage project scope, budget, timeline and resources effectively to deliver high-quality results within specified timeframes.
  • Identify project risks and mitigation actions, as well as introduce relevant project status reporting to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Track project progress and ensure accomplishment of milestones as planned.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive consensus and facilitate decision-making, including, but not limited to central IT teams, products competence centres and different Business lines.
  • Provide oversight of the entire project portfolio in the region, ensuring prioritization, traceability of initiatives and providing support and mentoring to assigned project managers.
  • Act as a liaison between business units and technology teams, facilitating the creation and translation of business requirements into technical specifications and solutions.
  •  Ensure or contribute to testing activities in their functional scope. 
  • Manage user access rights for few particular systems.
  • Maintain contact with local regulators and third-party providers as needed to ensure compliance and facilitate project execution.
  •  Drive adoption of best practices, methodologies and tools to enhance project delivery efficiency and effectiveness.

What qualities are we looking for?

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, IT or related field; PM certification preferred.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in project management, preferably in multinational banking/ financial environment
  • Proven track record of successfully managing transversal projects and coordination between Business and technical teams
  • Knowledge of process analysis, design and testing methods
  • System implementation experience is an advantage
  • Understanding of corporate banking products, services and operations, is a significant advantage.

Languages: Fluency in spoken and written English and Bulgarian

  • Proficiency in MS Office package
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g. Microsoft Project, JIRA) and business intelligence software is a plus.
